Anyone else get those days when they just want to give up with there diabetes and ignore it?
I’ve been diagnosed nearly two years and yet I'm still struggling to come to terms with it all, I feel so stupid.
I’m 32yrs diagnosed. I’ve had times of being beyond caring, but I’ve also had times of feeling the support I needed to see the future possibilities. 32yrs and no complications, which should give you some perspective of the future - - it’s not all blindness and amputation. Every day isn’t necessarily easy, but it’s definitely achievable that you have a reasonable day BG-wise, and you absolutely should have clinic support in getting to that point. Two years is nothing, I was about twenty years in before I got any useful education, but that was a real turning point for me, so keep pushing your clinic if you feel like you need more education, as at your point I didn’t know it was a thing.
You are not stupid it's a complex difficult disease no two are the same weather emotions all affect it and the so called experts don't live it so ask on this page or other t1 pages you can join we can't give advise on dosages but can make suggestions.
36 years in and every day is different every day is a new adventure. As was said above we never get a day off, we never get a single moment when you are monitoring ourselves whether consciously or subconsciously.
No one other than another t1 can appreciate the constant stress it causes, I seem to recall an American study that found we take on average 800 extra decisions a day than a non diabetic, decisions that are potentially life changing.
Keep your chin up, I try to remember that pre Banting I'd be dead at 14, 51 now and still going.

Please don't think your stupid. I'm 4 years diagnosed and feel the same. We live with this day in and day out. It's not easy and we have some tough days to deal with. Your not alone and this really is the best place to vent where we understand what your feeling and going through. There will be brighter times for you. Stay strong.
