Wondering if anyone has dark carpet with white walls? Is it too much contrast?

Help, I have chosen a darkish charcoal grey carpet for the bedrooms (not sure what I was thinking maybe less marks from kids?) I’m not sure if it’s too late to change it with the builders but I’m wondering if anyone has dark carpet with white walls? Is it too much contrast?

Any pics of bedroom would be great would be great.

I have found that it can look cheap and nasty, unless you really dress it up and use a good quality flooring.

We have had dark charcoal carpet in our last two houses with 5 kids and loved it. Never had much worry about seeing fluff and definitely more forgiving with kids. Once furnishings are in it softens any contrast you may be worried about.

I would change it if you can. The contrast is fine but dark carpets show up every single piece of dirt and fluff and never look clean. I hate it.

My walls are pale grey, wanted white but painter said this colour would look a soft white but it’s grey…..not happy but that’s another story:/
I agree change if you can, this only looks good when freshly vacuumed otherwise I can see white fluff all the time!!
Not a fan but can’t change now:(

Our carpet is dark grey and it shows every spec of fluff, cottons etc but is probably very forgiving of dirt and spills! There are better colours out there with lighter flecks thru it or more taupe which I would go for next time.

Our house came with newly laid charcoal carpet in all bedrooms, sitting room, media room and office and it has worked out so well. The main colour in my house is an almost white pale grey and I feel it works well. I haven’t started on our master bedroom as yet but here you can see it in our sitting room because I don’t have a rug as yet.

I think you can change it. Our first build was well underway when we were told the carpet we had picked was out of stock, so we went in and picked another. I think the house was about half finished by then. Worth checking ASAP if you do want to change it. You may have to pay a fee for any changes, but you won’t know if you don’t ask.

Personally, I would avoid a dark carpet in any south-facing rooms. When we bought our current house, it had dark charcoal carpet in all bedrooms. It made two of the bedrooms very dark. I replaced it all for timber.
