I have had a few quotes but speaking to someone on my street who has just done this, he done it himself as owner builder.

He had trades disconnect services, had house raises lift to the desired height. He then removed the old stumps, dug the holes and restumped. He then had everyone back to remove blocks and reconnect services.

Has anyone else done this? He said if he were to do it again, he would bolt the steel post to the house, let it hang in the post hole to the required depth then fill with concrete.

I'm trying to gauge if it's realistically possible. Husband is very capable of labour work, and family and friends equally competent, but no builders.

Brisbane region.

We raised our house from 2.2m to 3.45m, it is no easy feat. The house restumper we used did it in a week with just a bobcat and pure muscle.

We thought about doing it ourselves but after seeing what they do and how they do it we are so glad we got someone in.

Our restumper bolted the steel posts to the house and hung them and then concreted them into the ground. Most of the cost is in the steel, the house raise itself with the truck without posts cost us 12k.

We did this - owner builder but brought pros in to raise the house and lay concrete. We designed the ground floor so went with smaller metal posts that fit within layout and met engineering requirements.

Have to use plumbers and electricians but no builder. We did all downstairs framing and all internal work ourselves.

All over on our IG page renowayoflife if you want to see what we are doing.
