Hi guys, just a quick question. Are oil filled electric heaters cheaper to run, than having your central heating on.

Thanks.

I only heat the room that I’m in, and rarely put the heating on, if it’s just chilly I put on the oil filled radiator for half an hour, it stays warm for ages, I also put a throw over my lap, when it gets colder I put the gas fire on in the living room, we don’t care for the bedroom to be hot, last year we bought oodie tops which helped keep us warm .

Maybe if you just wanted a quick blast of heat to take the edge of the cold in one room. It's definitely cheaper to heat the whole house with gas central heating.

No gas is about a quarter of the price of electricity, but put thermostatic radiator valves on and only heat the room your in.
