(Newbie here) I have a small 6x8 greenhouse from harbor freight and absolutely love it.

I’m in need of some sort of exhaust fan, it’s already 111 degrees in my greenhouse.

I have the windows open and a fan.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

If you have a roof vent, get an automatic opener from Harbor Freight. Heat rises, so releasing it will help. Shade cloth will cut down some heat as well.

The exchange of air is what is important. You need to have shutters or open windows on one side or end of greenhouse, with exhaust fans on the other. Your exhaust fans will need shutters, not motorized, since the fan itself will open these shutters, but you want them to close when not needed to keep your heat in when you need it.

You should have more intake air opening than exhaust since the exhaust fans will be pulling fresh air in and across the greenhouse while pushing the old air out. Just a fan moving the air around inside does not change temperature, nor does it bring fresh air in, which is important for your plants. There are systems you can get from greenhouse supply, or you can manage yourself for less.

If you are unsure, I suggest you go online to greenhouse supply companies and look at their systems, see how they work and then you can find a way to do it DIY. I hope that helps some.
