Going to Charleston next month for a few days. We are staying in the French Quarter. Other then getting to/from airport, do we need a car there?

Thank you!

Just spent a weekend in Charleston and never used our car. Walked a lot and there is a free bus service around downtown. We took a 1 1/2 hour guided bus tour that was excellent and you could add a plantation tour to that.

Charleston doesn’t have a French Quarter. Presumably you mean downtown. It’s very walkable, but if you want to see more than the market area (beach, other historic sites), you will need a car.

Only if you want to go the beach or plantations - downtown is all walkable and check with your hotel about parking if you do rent a car.

Depends what you want to do. If you want to go to any of the plantations or go to the beach you will need a car.

If everything you want to do is in town, then no.

You can also Uber if needed.
