I'm doing my mum a hamper for Mother's Day of toiletries she needs for hospital

The best bit is that the lowdown comes from YOU. Round here, you are the influencer. You shape the board and make it great. We want you to get involved by writing posts and comments to inspire us, teach us, challenge us or simply make us laugh. The power is in your hands, literally.

A memory book of photos of her with your family, with a memory from the person in the photo about times they have spent together. A eye mask, one to cool, one to sleep. New toothbrush, toothpaste, brush and comb. Get a set of books that are easy to dip in and out off, but I The Works do deals so many for £5/£10. Some craft/knitting project that she has been meaning to do. You've got lots of fabulous ideas there.

Its really hot in hospitals -have you checked with the hospital about what toiletries are ok sometimes they interfere with the balance of the skin with certain treatments .Not toiletries I know but talking books are really good, she probably wont feel like doing much at first and she can listen to CDs through ear phones. Some relaxation tapes are really good as well. I wish her well and hope she gets better soon and also good wishes to you, hoping all is well very soonxx

Battery operated tea lights so at night she can put it on instead of the over head light . Just enough light without disturbing others.

What about a new weekend bag to put them all in, you could put all the bits inside and wrap the whole thing. Home Bargains, B&M and ASDA all have nice ones that don't cost the earth.

Firstly, sorry to hear your mum is poorly wishing her a well.

I think one thing that is a must is lip balm don't know what it is but always end up with dry lips when been in hospital.

My other suggestion - there is a page on fb called 'not another bunch of flowers' ( to be clear I have only seen the page never shopped there and nothing to do with the page) but their business is for hampers for poorly people might be worth browsing their page and seeing if any inspiration comes from there.... lots of ideas there.

Best wishes to you and your family at this scary time.
