I’m heading to Ireland next month and was looking for any ideas/advice for women’s cute, waterproof, and comfortable (for lots of walking!) shoes or boots (tall or short).

Thanks!

I ended up getting a pair of men’s Merrells because my feet are wide and wouldn’t fit in the women’s. They are mid high boots and I LOVE them. They are so comfy.

I will say that I bought and returned 5 pair of hikers before I found these! Amazingly comfortable AND lightweight & waterproof. I have a bunion and pronated left foot so it’s all about comfort for me. And I just bought Blondo (Idra) boots but haven’t received them yet from DSW. (Needed something cute too you know, a girls gotta look good!).

14 trips to Ireland. I wear my Merrill hiking boots every time for serious hillwalking (like climbing Sliabh Liag). Otherwise, I wear regular runners (tennis shoes) or my Keens like these.

Land’s End has great rain jackets get one with a hood. You won’t want to carry an umbrella. I take one but hardly ever use it. I recommend ankle boots like timberlands or ones from Land’s End. It is good to have the added support for your ankles if you are doing a lot of walking. Also, If you get ankle boots be sure to get good crew socks ones with cushion and arch support. Layer your clothing. I usually wear jeans, a tank, long sleeve shirt, sweater and my rain jacket. Bring a good scarf too.
