How can I get this down? I live in a 2 bed top floor flat and it’s only me that lives here!

My water bill has also gone from £22 per month to £45? I don’t understand

I also work three days a week far from home so for those three days I literally just sleep there!

My water bill is £47 a month 4 of us (kids bath/shower together) seems high. When i checked the back it said we are a low water user 340 units per ¼ but £47 seems alot to me.

With regard to water just be mindful with your usage. If you don’t have a half flush on your toilet apply for a water saving bag to put in the cistern. Try getting a water saving shower head and time your showers.

We’ve now turned our heating off completely and only heat water for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night.

If you cook by gas and are on your own an air fryer would be a good investment. Bulk cook and freeze too.

Mine went from £230 a month to £675. There's only one of us working at the moment so I asked British Gas if we could increase to £300 and monitor it in 3 months. I'm planning to only have the heating on for half an hour a day. Remember the prices are due to drop in June.

Concerning your water bill...take the total year amount and divide by 12 months. that is what you should be paying monthly. Yes i know sounds simple but when I double checked mine it showed by the end of the payment plan they had set out my account would be £240 in credit.

Water meter would reduce your bill as only pay for what you use. My water bill has reduced drastically. As for gas it’s because the cost of energy is so high - there was a recent increase, and we are losing the £66/£67 grant so everyone is paying more.

If cooking with gas get an air fryer, slow cooker & steamer to help reduce cost. Also, warmer weather incoming re heating

Do you read the meters, if not you need to provide them with monthly readings as they are estimating them. You may have a water leak, I pay £25 for 2 adults and a large fish tank in a 2 bed house for water.
