Writers need to stop beating themselves up. If you take a blank page and put words on it, you’re a writer. Whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction, scripts, plays, research, poetry, or ad copy, you’re a writer.

Understand that only writers understand writers.

Be proud of what you do. You’re unique. Work on mastering your craft, ignore the noise, and keep writing.

I fully agree with this. I write what I like to write. I try to ensure that there are no spelling errors and that the grammar is as good as can be expected. But in the end, I’m the one that has to be happy with it.

The argument that putting words on a page makes you a writer is redundant and confusing. Writing is more than physical. It is a meld of imagination, thought, consideration and feeling.

Agreed. At this point I write for me and one day if I end up writing something that doesn't suck then great.
