I'm looking for recommendations for a uv gel lamp, I've been doing my nails for a while but either the formula for the top coat has changed or its the lamp, its just peels off or chips after a couple of days when before it lasted 2-3 weeks.
Any help, tips, do's and dont's would be grateful.
Thanks.
Any nail techs on here – Any help, tips?
Trained nail tech here and as everyone says salon is always best especially don’t play with acrylic powders and monimers HOWEVER if you can’t afford to do that then beetles is a good gel polish system and a mylee lamp is what I use at home x
Nail tech here. Please just don't. We are trained and insured there are so many areas you can go wrong and cause yourself issues.
Hiya nail tech here. Sorry can’t make any recommendations on lamp but I can recommend you look into recent reports that regarding severe allergic reactions including complete nail loss from onycolosis have been covered by the BBC and ITVS this morning.
Allergy to acrylates are serious and can result in not being eligible for many medical treatments- dental treatments.

Nail tech here. If you're not qualified, please just don't. Read the recent news. We go through thorough training to carry out professional treatments on nails with professional products. Not using professional products, with the correct knowledge, and the appropriate lamp for the brand, are all recipes for allergies. Allergies which, once you've become allergic, can hinder you having dental work and surgery as you'd body will reject the ingredients you've become allergic to.
Any good nail tech on here will not give you recommendations. No doubt though other, non qualified people, will recommend something for you.

Please stop using cheap products these are contributing to the allergies people are seeing in the news. I know it’s not the answer you wanted but as a nail tech myself I urge you to stop unless you are qualified and insured and are buying certified regulated products.
If you enjoy doing your nails I 100% recommend doing an accredited short course so you can learn how to do it the correct way and get a greater understanding you’ll be able to buy professional only products then because youl have the qualification. then stick to a professional only brand and nothing off eBay/Amazon etc xx
