Good morning doctors thanks for your assistance. Please, my son will be 6months on 30th of this month and his tooth gum scratches a lot.

He uses his gum to hold my nipple and draw it to a length and even bit it while sucking which makes my nipple to be sore.

Please, What medication can I use to reduce the scratching?

Itchy gum is normal in teething and will stop once the teeth breaks out from the gum.

To relieve the itchy gums:
1. Use a clean finger (or cold teething ring) to gently rub your baby's gum for about 2 minutes at a time. Many babies find this soothing, although they may protest at first.

2. Provide safe objects for your baby to chew on, such as teething rings.
