Hi Pet lovers, I'm in need of advice...
My Tibby (17yrs) has recently been diagnosed with kidney problems. She is already taking the recommended medication for this as she has a heart murmor which is stable. We've been advised to change her day food to Hills Kidney's one which she seems to be eating bit by bit.
I normally give her wet meat for dinner but she hasn't eaten any the last few nights and has been sick water/biscuits today as well.
I keep her wet food varied between fish, meat, jelly and gravy as she gets bored (yes she's spoilt)
Does anyone who's pets have kidney problems have any advice?

My kidney boy did well on Fancy Feast Tuna and gravy cans. It was actually quite low phosphorus*this was many years ago so may have changed*. He was a very fussy eater and didn't like many of the vet diets- better for him to eat something imo.
He lived to 20.5 years.

Avoid Hill’s. It ruined my dog’s health and she recently passed. She only ate it for 3 days and she was in kidney and failure and had bladder stones that required emerg surgery. She never recovered. Royal Canin seems to be the most commonly used.
