I have an 8x12 greenhouse, growing tropicals. I need the humidity to stay at or above 70% rh and temps to remain below 80 deg F in the summer.
I have a fan that works tremendously well at removing heat, but also sucks the humidity out with it.
I have a hydrofogger but refuse to use it due to the noise. I have a good humidifier, but it doesn’t work as well as the vent, so it’s a problem.
I can kick the temp up to 90 and get more humidity right now, but that won’t work through the summer, so I’m looking for an alternative solution to the hydrofogger.
No more bubble wrap.
Can we talk swamp coolers?
I use a swamp cooler in my 8x12 greenhouse. I live in a very dry area so I need the extra humidity. But mainly I use it to keep the temperature down. I have it on a thermostatically controlled outlet that kicks it on when the temperature gets over 85 degrees. Mine is a portable model made by Hessaire.
I like it because it has a hose connection so I don't have to remember to fill it. It works very well for me but I don't know how well it works in a high humidity environment.

I just keep watering my floor. I have driveway mat down. It raises the humidity and lowers the temperature.
The greenhouse we had at school used what was basically an over sized swamp cooler in the summer for cooling and humidity.
I’d look into that.
And I like the idea of controlling it with a thermostatically controlled outlet.
Unless you have a computer controlled system.

I’m in 9b, I use a reflective shade cloth outside, a regular shade cloth on the inside, and I have a fogging system connected to a Rainpoint timer to fog every 8 minutes for 5 seconds (had to get that formula down!).
This combined with a regular fan and an exhaust fan have kept my temps in check at 90, with 70-80% humidity. I have a gravel granite rock floor too, which I researched before putting down for moisture retention.
Good luck to you friend!!
