SOMEONE TOLD ME: Industry standard is to measure in word count, not page count.

Imo, 80-100k words. But also, I think YA should be a genre only regarding topics. There should be no such genre recognition regarding vocabulary, length, or complexity.

I'm working on a target of about 80,000 words for a YA novel. However, word and page counts shouldn't be paramount. Tell your story unencumbered by counts.

I don't think any young adult books are epic high fantasy novels. They might be fantasy novels. Epics are always very long. Does someone disagree with me that epics are not always very long? Can anyone define an epic high fantasy novel for me to clarify my impression?

Go by word count, with 1" page margins, 250 words per page....
85k word count would be 340 pages.
