The most important thing you need is a huge body of potential buyers You know Who You Are going to read your work. Famous celebrities qualify in this way.

Some riders already established from conventional publishing qualifying this way. One in a Million writers who self-publish make a big success. I have seen statistics that say the vast majority of self-published books average less than 15 copies sold.

You don't need any of those things to self-publish with Amazon or some others. All you need is a book. The book is automatically copyrighted. You can choose to register that copyright, but no one requires it.
