Our house is a own terrace house and there is a whole in the roof (around 3 tiles bigger). I don’t know how it’s formed probably due to strong wind.
How can I go above fixing it without speaking a lot of money? Through insurance? I understand through insurance, it will take time. What is the emergency measure to stop water going into the roof?
Thanks for your time.
I am looking for an advice regarding roof repair «Through insurance»
My insurance claim for the roof took no more than 2 weeks. Loss adjuster came out inspected roof & passed claim - told to get 3 quotes which was the bit that took longest - getting appts etc but once our builder was chosen it was full steam ahead.
It was years ago but insurance wouldn't pay out on Mom & Dads roof leak/hole as they deemed that there was no bad weather in the area the day it was reported!
It won't necessarily be covered by insurance, plus your excess and the faff of claiming could make claiming more trouble than it's worth.
Get a few quotes from local roofers. A small whole may not be as much as you think. It will be worth having the roof checked for any other issues that can't be seen from the ground.
Get a local roofer to do it and check the rest of it out. Wear and tear isn't covered under the insurance and will be much cheaper. Checkatrade should be able to help with referrals.
