I plan on taking my dog on a few vacations that include hiking trails, camping, things like that. He’s won’t go out of his way to bite anyone, but when someone he doesn’t know gets to close to his personal space, he will. So I’d rather not take the chance of a kid or someone running up trying to pet him and him bite them.

Opinions on this muzzle or other ones we could use this summer? Just want my boy to enjoy himself as we don’t know how many summers we have left with him.

I just bought this one for my boy, he gets leash anxiety on walks, and has snapped at people who stop and try to pet him. This muzzle has worked really well for us, as it can be adjusted to a place where he can pant and drink, but not bite. It also works as a head halter, so his pulling on walks has greatly decreased as well.

I use this on both my pits, it’s super light and easy for them to still eat and drink thru it!

A basket muzzle is what I would recommend one that allows enough room for him to pant and drink still but prevents him from possibly biting.

I would say find a muzzle that fits appropriately first because I find longer nosed dogs fit better in a basket muzzle, but for walking I would get one with as much air flow as possible. Also, if you can feed treats to the dog through it there is a possible a child can be bitten or nipped.
