Can get high winds a couple times a year from nor’easters or hurricanes if we get them. Summer can be very humid. NW wall would be a solid wall and some trees would prevent early morning sun, say before 8.

Was wondering on the roofing?

Should I have a clear roof and some kind of shade for it when we get our weeks in the upper 90’s or 100 + days?

If not a poly carb roof or other recommended clear roofing, it would be a metal roof. We have a small yard, The house would block sun to the walls most of the morning. The roof would see full sun after 8-9. Planning on having a fan to pull hot air out if needed and can temp/humidity control it. Not looking to grow anything particular. Just having fun with it to start out.

I like Polycarbonate because of its strength & ability to withstand -40 to 140 temperatures. I get super strong winds here in zone 6b, Shawnee, KS & I have two Palram greenhouses that have withstood 70mph winds & quarter size hail. Don’t know if Palram offers a 3 sided greenhouse but I’d look into one.

You will also need to put a shade cover over it in the hot months but then take it down & you’ll get great sun in the winter.

Where you live, you'll definitely need temperature controlled automatic fans and shade cloth for your roof, if you plan to use the GH during the warmer months (say, April - October). If your space is limited, you might try a variety of things to see what grows best in your situation.
