We haven’t ever booked a foreign holiday as a family and I have no idea where to start

We like simple but good quality. I’m trying to decide if getting a better quality accommodation on Airbnb but have to cook/ clean and sort transfers myself is better than a package deal where the most we could afford looks slightly naff. I hate the idea of all the aging for food and don’t love being around too many people.

My ideal would be a small hotel on a safe Sandy cove. With a few tavernas. Does this exist?

We’ll be looking to go away in October to take the kids out for 4 days around an INSET so would still like a warm holiday.

What other options or ideas do you all have?

I want it to be as easy as possible. We like

Camping so would consider a lodge in an area where we could go out for dinner.

We went to Rocha Brava in Portugal… it’s self contained apartments, on a complex with cafe, restaurant/pools…

Walking distance to other restaurants and beach etc

Another place we’ve stayed is Plaza Azul in Lanzarote- again, it’s self catering apartments around a shared pool.

We are in exactly the same boat as you. I think we’re deciding on hotel so we don’t have to cook and clean. But we want small but fun. We’ve decided on Greece zante. It’s a mindfield isn’t it! It’s taken us forever just to pick a darn Country.

We were considering menorca too it looks so lovely
