Can you book a holiday and pay for it if still waiting on passports?

I sent them away for renewal 2weeks ago.looking to book for September time. Just feel like they go up in price everytime I look.

You can but if they don’t arrive in time you’re gonna have potentially very expensive amendment fees to change.

Yes I done that as long as it's not weeks away to allow for hold ups I would book.

Yep, most airlines don't need passport details until days before flight (if they even want them).

I booked our flights last October for this summer and still haven't put in details.

Fingers crossed you will have them back. I put in (through the checking system with the post office) 3 passports for renewal (1 adult and 2 children’s) and from the day I put them in to the day the courier delivered the new ones to me was 12 days !

You can however it will be fully your responsibility to ensure you have valid passports at the time of travel x
