My hourly pay is going up do I need to let universal credit know?
Yes please do it, I had a pay rise of 50p an hour and they sent me messages of changing on my journal etc and wouldn’t release my statement until it was done. I now do it everytime. Cover yourself and do it. If they don’t need it you’ve done nowt wrong in updating
Even though UC is updated each month via RTI submissions from your employer, you still have to inform them.
Hi- as an ex work coach no. Hmrc will report your earnings each month.
You could always send a wee journal message. But its not necessary.

Hubby has just put on our journal and they said thanks but they will be told by employer which has happened.
No. It will automatically be updated. My wage changes often, and always adjusted automatically.
I informed them when we 1st started claiming about an increase in my Husbands wage through my Journal and they replied that I didn't need to inform them as they receive the information from employers each month.
My pay fluctuates every month, I never tell them, when I got backdated pay, I also never inform them it was reported by my employer to HMRC. So was updated.
For those who say you will end up with overpayment, that is not true.
You can only report if you are self-employed I think.

Just write a note on your journal, they'll know anyway but it's best to put it on your journal because then you've informed them and there's no way they can come after you or anything.
