Have your shopping habits changed during the cost of living crisis?
.. & Do you buy more frozen veg and frozen food than before. Have you cut down on certain things?
We do online shopping but usually the fresh items that are delivered have a very early best before date so they go off before we manage to eat them. We've now changed to mainly frozen stuff as throwing out stuff is not an option in this cost of living crisis.
Use own brand most things, bought larger meat joints or mince , pork is cheaper than beef, to make double meals to save for the next day or freeze for later. Make sweets like rice pudding , bread and butter pudding, when using the oven, put jacket potatoes in oven when being used then freeze them,
I'm eating old tinned food along with old freezer foods at the moment and plan on moving over to more frozen vegetables eg peppers. Have reduced meat consumption so it's taking longer to empty the freezer.
No not really, was always very efficient, getting rid of the wife was the best money saving thing I did. Cost a fortune but saving big every month lmao..
I actually buy more fresh, then batch cook and freeze. So instead of doing shopping every week, I shop now every 2 weeks. And am cutting down on buying snacks and too many chocolates. Not just for saving money but for health reasons. Now I chomp on a raw carrot or radishes etc.
Buy more freshed, then freeze. For example buy bread in slices than we can eat, just freeze and take out what you need daily.
