The Smeg vs KicthenAid 4 slice toaster and kettle

I have a voucher that I want to use to buy a new toaster and kettle.

I’m looking the Smeg or Kicthen Aid four slice toaster and kettle. Smeg has mixed reviews.

Does anyone have the kitchen aid ones and are happy with them?

My smeg kettle has bubbled up near top side and the silver knob fell off. The litre numbers on back side wore off and it needs descaling every 2 weeks.

Now the toaster spills crumbs from bottom tray out on bench and get crumbs stuck around silver rim on top.

I should've claimed warranty from it from start on kettle as these issues started a few months in. I would not buy this brand again. It's all looks nothing else. Waste of money

Maybe I bought a dud like others on product review.

I’ve had my Smeg toaster for about 3 years and it toasts perfectly. All of my appliances are Smeg and the only one I didn’t feel was good was the blender.

If anything goes wrong in the first two years they will replace it no questions asked. Have exchanged a few times.

I have a kitchen aid toaster (not the one pictured) and kettle. They are 2.5 years old and not performing well, both need replacing. I won’t bother purchasing high end again.

I have smeg both and they are perfect ) my kettle is quiet and the toaster is so good , even my mum says her smeg toaster toasts better than any other toaster.

Never had kitchen aid brand myself but I was tossing the 2 myself. Smeg def looks nicer.

I have a Smeg toaster and kettle, love the look of them but the toaster (we have the same 4 slice one) drives us nuts, it flings the toast into the air and onto the floor every time we use it. EVERY time.

Mine don’t sit out on my bench, both are inside my WIP. I have the hot water dispenser from Kmart and a cheap toaster from big w. I went with functionality over fancy colours or looks for these very basic items.

Yes!! I've had the pictured kitchenaid one for 7 years and it's still just as great as the day I got it. It toasts so evenly nothing like the cheap ones. The only downside is it beeps when the toast goes down and also when it comes back up.

We have the smeg - am on my 3rd kettle now as the first two were faulty! The top didn’t open properly and kept having to press it over and over to get it to open to fill. 3rd kettle works perfect so does the toaster… I’ve not had the kitchen aid but they seem more robust

I have the smeg kettle and toaster. The toaster has been replaced 3 times. Due to the spring going. If you go with smeg make sure you buy the replacement warranty.

I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Yes, they look good but the quality is terrible. No problems with kettle yet.
