Will it go away once dry?

Currently have window open, heater and fan on! Painter says the heater will help but the smell is unbearable and we have little ones. Might have to stay in a hotel tonight!

Cut up a couple of brown onions and put them in a bowl with water. They absorb unpleasant smells rather than masking them.

Is it oil or water based? Oil is worse and takes longer. It will take about a week but is VERY strong. I just did enamel trims only in one room and it was awful. I did three bowls in each room - vinegar, lemon juice, bicarb. Not sure if it made a difference but the intense smell went after a week.

Water based should go pretty quickly. Maybe a day or so? If you can open the windows and let the breeze blow it around it helps.

Basically paint needs to cure (harden and set) to stop smelling. Winter is the worst time to paint because it takes so long to dry and then cure and harden. You just gotta wait!

We recently had our house painted and stayed somewhere else with our little ones because the smell was so strong. After two nights it was fine.

Bowls of vinegar left in the room overnight.
Can use water instead but vinegar is best
