Looking to travel through Malaysia and do Langkawi, Penang and KL in early/mid September

I’ve read that this is still monsoon season on the west coast so interested to hear if anyone has been here at a similar time and if it’s still worth going to?

I’ve been to all places in early/mid September. KL and Penang is nice, the occasional rain didn’t bother me really much. There’s lots to do inside too and the rain is more or less foreseeable.

Langkawi is different, September is the worst month of rain, I was there two weeks and it rained every day at least 5 times and for longer periods. I still enjoyed it tho because the island was nearly empty but if you only have a few days I wouldn’t bet on sunshine any day.
