Also I've googled the weather want to go when it's warm one site says go in September then another says September is the rainest month.

Looking at booking for Mexico next year
April to October is rainy season, very hot and humid. Also, high risk of sargassum (seaweed) that can come in abundance and stink of rotten eggs if not cleared. Most hotels do attempt to clear but sometimes it’s just too much of it. Stay clear of Cancun, very commercial and Americanised. We have been to Mexico twice, once in November and once end of October. In October had a few days with rain but it cleared pretty fast. November was a lot more dry and bearable in terms of humidity.
We stayed at Bahia Principe Tulum with our 8yo. Had a suite which is a bedroom and lounge with sofa bed. Newly renovated, which was great. Food was good, ate my own weight in freshly made guacamole nice little splash park, a few pools, on the beach. Only thing I did not like is that main restaurant did not have air conditioning, struggled with heat couple of nights. Abundance of wild life that my child loved to observe.
