For those of you who have had gastric surgery, did you wear sliders or were you OK to bend to tie laces etc?

The information given in this board is non medical and based on research and peoples personal experience.

Starting to work out what I’m packing.. For those of you who have had gastric surgery, did you wear sliders or were you OK to bend to tie laces etc? I’m going in October so I don’t know if sliders will be appropriate as it will be cooler.

I brought slip on sandals, kinda like crocs. They were perfect to throw on when they arrive to grab you for a test (the slippers were too thin for me, I need a sole) also brought a longish nightie just for modesty I wasn't sure how Muslim the hospital would be and wanted to be respectful. I didn't have problems with a dry mouth after surgery but I was out of it and slept a lot so I was fine to wait until after the leak test. Also brought my own toiletries and powder was a big one for the folds

You walk around the hospital for tests so I had short nightie on once with cardi. Or take couple of light dresses.

I didn’t have any problems with laces. Additionally the incisions are small and the pain relief is excellent

I wore the health store turkey slippers in hospital then sliders. Me personally I don't think I could have bent down to tie laces
