Haven't been on here for ages. After last 15-18 months, my mental health has eased a bit. Last month even, I took meter reading only on 1st May, and again 1st June, today, to generate bill. Huge improvement.

When new price cap announced, I screen shot my region, and thought I'll process it on spreadsheet later. For those familiar with my situation,  this is massive progress for me.

Anyways, today, after taking ky reading, consulting last bill and working out without bring so "daily recording" about it, I've used 147 units, costing £65.27. Quite happy as haven't obsessed.

The new figures announced. My current unit rate for electric is 35.4p and standing charge is 42.67p. Newly announced rates are 47.21 for unit charge and 30.9 for standing charge. That's a massive increase for unit charge. I thought it was coming down? Using that on the figures I sent today would mean mays bill would be £78.98 after new price cap implemented,  as opposed to £65.27, which it is today. That's a 21% increase! I fear for my mh again, and I seriously cannot cut back further, as my previous posts stated - a lot I've removed.

Heating not on, hot water not on, between 3 of us, maybe 8-10 4 minutes showers a week, washing clothes on cold, no hot drinks, no cooker, only air fryer single hob. Have invested in a 850w tumble dryer for school clothes in emergency during winter, but bought this in march/April. During winter we maybe only had heating on for maybe 20 hours max. My annual usage last year was about 1700 units, the shell bill gives my annual cost projection as about £850, for all electric,  no oil, no woodburner etc. So seriously,  very little I can do, but now fearful and panicky again due to this 21% increase

Looks like you've read this table? The price per kw is the 30.9p and standing charge 47.2p so is a drop in kwh price and but of an increase in standing charge.

What newly announced rates? are you referring to the ones staring from July 1 or current ones. If referring to a current rate then the EPG will be applied bringing it down to around 32-34p.

I remember you're posts and that is good progress, well done for not obsessing as much, it is hard but you've done so well with your usage I think you can definitely relax a little. Are you sure you have read the unit rate right? On Ians tables all the prices per kw for electric are 29 or 30p? Standing charge has gone up slightly I think though. I think maybe you have your unit rate and the standing charge thr wrong way round. Maybe just double check your region according to Ians tables, touch wood it will come down for you!

About time we all had a decrease. (All be it only a small one).
