I know monthly smart meters are bad, (not that I'm eligable due to communial cupboard being too far for signal) but e.on has started to pester me about Pay as you go smart meters, I don't know much about this and if anyone has this to give me more info.

I do have one question though, does pay as you go smart meters still need a signal like monthly ones?

Why are monthly smart meters bad? Pay as you go smart meter would need the same signal as a credit smart meter there basically the same thing just set up in a different mode.

Yes. What you need to ask for is a dual band smart meter system. Their signal goes much much further than a normal smart meter.!

All smart meters operate in the same way regardless if they are in credit mode or prepayment mode. All smart meters will need to be able to communicate with the DCC from wherever they are located.

The same smart meter will be installed regardless of payment method. They can operate in both prepayment and credit modes.

In my humble opinion there is absolutely nothing wrong with monthly smart meters.

Who said they're bad. Too much unnecessary scaremongering..
