I got to the airport at 8am for a 10:10am flight to Palma only to be told the terminal was suffering a power cut, we got in the Ryanair Queue for the bag drop and the power was restored at 8:30m and it was announced that flights would be called in priority order so we kept queuing, we weighed and tagged our bags and kept queuing only to be told an hour later that the flight had left without us!!

No announcements nothing! after our flight had left Manchester airport staff told us because Ryanair didn’t cancel the flight we had to check for alternative flights by this time all alternative flights had sold out, not just from Manchester we checked all uk airports! So we missed our family holiday!

We booked through Love Holidays, with Ryanair flights had AXA holiday insurance and NOT one is helping with a refund because we “missed” the flight or our insurance doesn’t cover a power cut!!

I unfortunately didn’t pay by credit card.

The deposit by debit card and then the rest monthly by direct debit so can’t claim back that way! Just wondering if anyone else is in this situation?

We raised a complaint against Ryanair with the CAA. Eventually got all our money back. Contact them.

Hi. You should absolutely be able to do a chargeback with your bank, itll just ask for the seperate transactions and the proof of purchase and the proof that it was their fault you missed your holiday.

I was able to claim back for my flights during covid even though I chose not to fly in their eyes.

I work at the airport and was there that day! I had a meeting just outside t3 and saw the ques. The power line went down near the fire station fuel reserve and an evacuation took place and had to run off generators.

I must say all the passengers were in surprisingly good spirits.

The only airline to leave their passengers was Ryanair absolutely appalling.

Definitely the airlines fault! I felt so sort for those families all crying with kids.

So sorry to hear this. Its devastating. Not the same but we booked with on the beach last July, flying with Ryanair. Got to Manchester Airport, checked in, they then cancelled our flight 20 mins before we were due to board, no explanation at all.

The advise I can give you is fill the claim form in and keep ringing them. Same with who you booked with. I kept commented on so many pages on fb, giving them bad feedback.

Really hope you get somewhere. It's truly devastating.

I say no if Ryanair were the only airline, I wouldn't fly with them. It took us months to get a refund, then in the end they didn't pay it all.

Everything I called and explained what had happened, every person I spoke to straight away they said, okay I will book you another flight. It was so frustrating but keep going. Good luck, feel for you xx

And that's why I never fly Ryan Air. Done it to me in the past. Never again. Left all us stranded in Grenoble while all the other airlines sorted their passengers out. Despicable company..

Try Resolver on the Martin Lewis website if all else fails, we used them to get 800€ compensation, tried on my own for months, used them and within a week a cheaque was in the post x

My son was in the airport. School trip to Barcelona on the Ryan Air 10:10 flight. Absolutely ridiculous, they didn't even get to check their bags in. The flight was delayed but went. There were around 60 of them in the group that missed the flight. The travel group eventually arranged for them to be picked up from the airport at 10pm to travel to Gatwick for flights the next morning. Lost out on over 24hrs of the trip.

I've heard nothing direct from school but I've been told that there is a claim already ongoing. With who I don't know. xx

We were on the flight after you but with Vueling who did wait. We saw what happened with your flight. That day was horrendous - although we made our flight, our transfer left without us, we ended up taking 13.5 hours to get to Spain.
