Hi, my sister has adopted a kitten. He is adorable, but is going into any car or van if the door is left open.
She is frightened that he will be unknowingly abducted!
Is there anything like a tracking device that she can put on him?
I've suggested loads of bells so the driver can hear him!
Edit - he is chipped and has a tag on.

Honestly I’d be more worried that he will get run over if he isn’t frightened of getting close to the car. My mums cat (snow Bengal ) got into the post man’s van (we think) and ended up miles away found injured in a garden we got her back via microchip so definitely do that but the trackers are a bit pointless unless your paying a subscription- AirTags only work if people with iPhones are nearby so if the cat wanders into rural areas then you will struggle - we tried a tracker on one of our cats (we think he goes very far) but it annoyed him and he just kept pulling it off.
Air tag and she may want to think about building him a catio.
Makes you wonder if he was previously lost by doing this if she adopted him from a charity!

My cats have tags in thier collars woth a qr code on that if scanned will notify me of its location and gives the person that scanned it my contact details
Keep him as a house cat, she will be able to do that if she hasn't had him long. He will adapt in no time.
Yes tractive is great. Also it's fun because it's like a Fitbit. We used to have one for our cat and it would tell us about his calorie burn and sleep cycles and you could see a map of where he'd been on the app as well as locate where he is now. Definitely worth it. It's a little widget thing that goes on the collar.
Also, Here: Looking for good dog GPS tracker please?

Priority is to get him neutered if he isn’t already. Male kittens can be active from as young as 4-5 months!!
They will travel further than you think to find an unneutered female. Once neutered you will find he is less likely to wander.
Remember he will have to fend his territory against other cats in the area, so perhaps wait until he is a little older. Tracking devices start from £30 upward.
Enjoy him x

Sorry I don’t know about tracking devices etc but definitely make sure he is microchipped!
One of our cats went missing when he was almost a year old (from where we live in West Lothian) - 3 years later almost to the day we got a phone call from a vets in FIFE asking if we’d lost Norris and that he’d been handed in there!
Can only have gotten there in the back of a van or something (unless he built a boat and crossed the Firth of Forth lol) - so miracles do happen
He’s now almost 7 years old and living his best life here with us but I’d love to know what he did on his 3 year adventure!
I would also suggest bells on his collar in the hope someone would hear them if he was in a car or van xxx
