Best suncream [in Tenerife]?
Currently in Tenerife and using P20 brand factor 50, what I thought was a good brand and all of us are burnt to a crisp! Help..
.. None the less I thought I’d let you know I do know how to use suncream and have reapplied it,not sat in the sun all day from one application in the morning, we just got burnt, simple as that, it may have been a dodgy batch, it was brand new and not out of date, who knows, I have been holidaying abroad for many years and have never experienced such intense burning, maybe global warming is part of it, I have no idea, none the less I have brought some alternatives and the kids are wearing long sleeves to protect their shoulders a bit more than before and we will continue to enjoy the sunshine on holiday.

It will be the application - 30 mins before going in the sun and apply as a layer - don’t rub in (most people use nowhere near enough) reapply every hour or so - more in in the water.
This makes me so sad reading some of these comments. Once a day suncream doesn’t exist. You have to reapply regularly! I was diagnosed with skin cancer at 34
We buy the natural tone suncream you get it from the reps that come round the hotel. They also shop in Tenerife think it's in Los Cristianos highest is factor 30 I use it on my kids and myself everytime we go abroad and they have never burned with it
I use p20 30 for all the kids and of course reapply after water and they’ve always been fine in places like Egypt and Turkey. I use pitz buin 30 and 15 and we’re all naturally blonde.
I was advised not to use a factor 50
A 30 is plenty it will give you maximum protection as long as you check the back and it has 5
Avoid 50s they block your pours

What do People put on their scalp? My hair is fine and my parting often burns, but suncream often makes my hair so greasy that it exposes more skin!
Lower to 30 so you can sweat.
Stay out of sun 11-3.
Apply 15 minutes before going in sun, reapply if been in water, check how often you should reapply.
Use after sun.
Make sure you are hydrated.

Just got back from Tenerife and had the same issue, a family we met recommended this and let us use some, honestly it was a life saver, expensive but worth it for your next trip.
Wow all the comments saying NOT to use spf 50...
I'm British but now live in Oz. Me and my kids only ever wear spf50....anything less isn't good enough. Cover up, hats, stay out of the sun between 11-2 and apply-reapply-reapply-reapply! Don't risk skin cancer. A nice tan isn't worth it, and your kids skin is the most precious of all xxx

The amount of misinformation in this thread is genuinely worrying.
How much of that product were you using? The bottle states 30-40ml for a full body every application so that’s only around 3 uses per bottle. Most people use way less than they should which means you’re not getting the SPF stated on the product.
