I think my dog may be showing signs of Lyme disease

A few weeks ago he started limping on one foot, lasted a few days and went away. Thought nothing of it, he runs around the woods a lot with our other dog.

This evening he’s become pretty lethargic. Not eating or drinking, very hesitant to jump up on the couch, tail between his legs like he’s anxious (although he is naturally a very anxious dog). Is this an emergency situation or can it wait until morning?

I’m worried about kidney failure if it is Lyme. My husband is beside himself and keeps saying he’s afraid he’s going to die overnight. I don’t think his symptoms constitute an emergency, but of course it is Sunday tomorrow so regardless we’d have to see an emergency vet. Any advice?

Always better safe than sorry ❤️ ER visit would definitely ease your guys minds vs waiting overnight.

If he's just had phantom lameness (limping that resolves or changes legs), it's probably not an emergency. If he is showing symptoms of kidney issues (increased drinking, increased urination) then I would consider it emergent.

If you feel his condition is so bad that he might die overight, then get to the ER.
