How many pillows on a king size bed is too many?

This is a guest room. If I had to make the bed everyday then maybe less pillows.

Is there a specific way of displaying the pillows?

Put on as many as makes you happy. I have 4 pillows and 3 cushions in both the spare room and the master at the moment, but that can vary.

That looks about right! I have usually 8-11 cushions depending on how I style it.

As long as you have somewhere to put them when someone is actually sleeping in the bed.
