Has anyone ever booked last minute for a summer holiday and found they got a good deal?

If you are not fussy about which country, resort and hotel then take the gamble, but if you have your heart set on things like on the beach, waterpark/ slides, Al Le carte restaurants, in a quiet / noisy resort then book when you see what you want!
