How late do people leave it to book last minute family holidays?

I'm wondering if the saving a few days before is similar to the saving a week/two before.

If you see a deal, hotel, holiday that you like then book it! It could have gone if you wait. It’s a gamble, but if you want space for a family then you will be more restricted due to space on plane.

It's a roll of the dice and always down to flight availability and hotel occupancy.

We normally start looking about 3 weeks before.

Then book 14 day or less before departure, we went to Turkey last month and as soon as we booked it the price shot up the next day and then the hotel wasn't available 3 days later!

Pre COVID always booked last minutes (7-3 days) since COVID you don't get a price drop and you get left with all the rubbish unfortunately.

I book ours Friday and we fly out Thursday.
