Hi everyone, we are a family of 4 (ages 3 and 11) and looking to venture abroad however the prices are really high for school holidays. My question is: Does anyone wait and book last minute getaways and found it a lot cheaper?

Looking for any handy tips..

I got a great deal last oct half term, I booked about a week before we went and I got it for £2k where as most people had paid about £5k for the same holiday. It was really stressful searching for the hol tho as every day I was looking and it was all too expensive or not suitable for us and I was worried time was running out!

then one day that holiday just popped up out of the blue. I booked it and then it vanished, not sure if the price was a mistake but I was happy

I think nowadays when you see a bargain or holiday that’s within your budget you need to book it there and then as price’s definitely increase
Maybe Try Eurocamp.

I did do pre/during covid but the cheap as chips book a few days before deals have vanished. I booked about a month ago for May half term, I suppose some would class that as last minute I guess. It’s doubled in price since.

We've just got a week at the French centre parcs next Easter for about £900 less than the English one. Going to surprise our son,8 with days out to disney whilst there. They've currently got 20% off and 3 free activity vouchers too. Hardly seeing any bargains or cheap options so thought we would give this a try x
