Hi, my ex is supposed to be taking our little boy to turkey on Saturday and she just realised his passport has ran out (I know... very silly not checking) but is there anything she can do tomorrow? I believe they don't do the same day service now if you drive to the passport office?

Many thanks..

Childrens fast track is 1 week. No same day turn around.

For a child’s passport this isn’t possible you will need to either pay for a date change or lose the holiday.

If you can get to the passport office I would drive down there, I did it last year for a childs renewal which was stuck in the system. There is a queue for people without appointments, someone with a clipboard comes out, explain the situation, you might be lucky.

Yes contact your nearest passport office immediately and send them proof of flight and they should be able to help, they did us anyway, good luck and hope it gets sorted.

When I booked a week fast track appointment I booked whatever appointment I could and then found I could change it without waiting for the next slots to be released. I managed to get an appointment at a closer passport office for the following day which must’ve been a cancellation. This may not be the same for the premium service and obviously doesn’t guarantee you’d get an appointment for tomorrow though. I’m also not sure how long it takes to receive the passport.

When we had this a few years ago....and yes I'm a travel consultant, whoops, ahem.....just keep phoning passport office, every five mins or so....firstly they said no appointments and I was going to give up and get berated forever by my wife but then I called again and miraculously there was one in Belfast....third or fourth time of trying, I got a London one which was more convenient...just! That said not so easy with kiddie-winkies now....but they'll be the ones to ask.

I believe 2 days from applying is the earliest you can get a passport. And then its about £200. You get the passport at the appointment.

Even the premium service only offers a passport appointment 2 days from the day you go to book. I don't think there's any way to travel on Saturday.

You may be able to get an appointment somewhere if you’re willing to travel! May be somewhere a few hours drive away has an appointment. X
