I was wondering which washing machine would be ideal to buy as my recent one died on me a few weeks ago?

I'm sorry for being a nuisance to ask.

My former one was a ProAction which lasted me coming up to 13 years and upon speaking to my friend who previously owned a Bush said to avoid them as his broke down several times he had it and is too looking for a new washing machine.

Thank you for the advice and information you can give us. I know it might be a long shot but we don't want to spend more than £500.

My old Hotpoint died just over a year ago and I had an engineer in to see if it could be saved. I asked for recommendations and he said avoid Hotpoint like the plague as they now use cheaper parts, but Bosch is by far the best, no less than 7kg and spend around £300 for a decent sized model. I bought a Bosch and it is so quiet, washes well.

I wouldn't recommend my Candy...three repairs in 2 yrs. I used to love Ariston...and on..and on, but can't get those now.

I would recommend Beko.
Not fancy but does the job well and not expensive. Very reliable too.

FOR YOU: How long do you wash your clothes for?

I had a Bosch, got it because I have one of their fridge/freezers, which was/is very good (It'll be 18 this year and never a days trouble apart from the time someone left the freezer door slightly open and the whole compartment iced up even the light in the fridge hasn't needed replaced!) but it lasted just over 3 years so I got a Samsung eco bubble- wasn't the top of the range one and mine was ex-display so it only set me back about £275 and that's still going strong 9 years later.

Miele which carries a ten year guarantee on parts or Bosch which is another quality machine Both tend to give years of trouble free service.

I've just got a hisense one 2 weeks ago. They are good but their customer service is shocking. Our machine was leaking water and they were going to charge me a call out and repair fee to fix the seal, they were placing all blame on me when it was a manufacturer issue. As soon as I said I want a complete refund from currys they have been out today to replace free of charge. If the guarantee doesn't cover that, then what does it cover??

I have a Beko which I highly recommend, we bought in an emergency as it was fairly cheap but the energy rating was good, not intending to keep it for long. I have had it for 9 years and its never gone wrong, I absolutely love it

I have a Beko, no problems. I've previously had Candy which have gone on, & on 16yrs (dishwasher, too) I wanted to say how impressed I am with Drain & spin, which takes SO much excess water out. I use 30 deg & 14 min wash & 12 min d & spin. This cycle is not just on Beko, so efficient! Oh & I use very little liquid wash detergent & a tip I learnt on this site, white vinegar in pre wash & wash compartment, everything softer & colours brighter. Best wishes.
