l bought a mug with a teddy in from Tesco for my hubby for father's Day & didn't notice, there is a big chip in the handle - it's very dangerous, only spotted it in giving it to him, problem is l can't find the receipt.

The mug still has the Tesco tag on, will they take it back & exchange it or do l have no chance without the receipt?

You can say you're not satisified with the quality.

If you paid by card they will exchange it for you no problem as its also proof of your purchase.

Also, check out: Father's Day coming up in under two weeks? Has anyone got any good (cheap i.e. under £10) present ideas?

I would try to take back can't hurt. Without a receipt they will exchange usually but can't refund.

Yes exchange without the receipt bit make sure it's today cos if it's tomorrow it may go down in price and only offer u what it scans at but actually as it's broken they should do a straight swap.

You shouldn't have a problem. Bit like after Christmas. Just go straight to customer services. Wave it at security and show them the chip on way in if you are worried. They will let you exchange but won't refund.

They must exchange it as it's not fit for purpose.

They will change for another as it’s faulty, just can’t get a refund without a receipt.

Yes, they will exchange or money to value of what it scans at today as in store use no cash can be given.
