If I run then both for 30 minutes, surely gas oven has got to be cheaper or am i missing something. I may have to get rid of my beloved airfryer when my fixed rate is up!

Air fryer is much cheaper. The food is usually cooked before the big oven has got to temperature. I haven’t used my gas oven for years, just when more than two people eat.

You can check also: Has anyone bought a cheaper alternative to the ninja 2 drawer air fryer and found it good value?

My air fryer is a lot cheaper to run than my gas oven. Use the air fryer all the time and the oven now n again.

I actually love my AF not only does it save a bit of money I find it easier and quicker to use. Certainly in this heat it’s been much better than the oven.

Don’t get rid - even if you have to wait till prices come down more. I have found the air fryer cheaper than using my electric oven.

I would look at it say what would you cook in the airfryer that cooks I'm 30 mins and would it cook in the oven in 30 mins it will take longer in gas oven and gas is more expensive than electric x

This isn’t an answer but could be useful in general, I have just bought a gas bbq & have started cooking outside as much as possible, large gas is about £40 but best is it won’t put your DD up.

I use my air fryer twice a day and I haven’t seen an increase in My electric useage. It’s only me and a four year old in the house though so I don’t need to cook large meals and seems silly to heat my large oven just for a few bits lol

As others have said, gas is cheaper, so if you’re running both for the same amount of time, the gas oven is almost certainly cheaper.

That said, what rating is the gas oven? What rating is the air fryer?

For example, even though gas is a third of the price, it’s generally a lot less efficient - so you’re using more gas for the same output.

Even then, time for time, the gas oven would probably still be cheaper.

However - if I cook something in my oven (which admittedly is electric) it takes probably ten minutes or more to get to heat, and then say 20 to 25 minutes to cook. The same thing in my air fryer takes one minute to reach heat, and is cooked in 12 minute.

So, to cook the same thing takes a total of 35 minutes in the oven, vs a total of 13 minutes in the air fryer.

Therefore, even if the air fryer is twice as expensive PER HOUR to run, I am using it for less than half of the time.

My bills have gone down since using the air fryer, I can't even remember how to use the big oven! I'm definitely not switching back.

Suggested: I’m with Eon for gas and electric and they have put my bills to £485 a month – I can’t afford the price they are setting

In my case, My air fryer is cheaper as I'm cooking for less time, I enjoy my food cooked in air fryer more than oven cooked and I notice some fat drains off in my air fryer, which it doesn't in my oven
