My midwife says that my baby is currently back to back and he should turn the right way during or before labour. However if he doesn't then he can be born back to back but Labour can sometimes be a bit more painful on the lower back.
I would just like to hear other people's stories with back to back babies, your experiences and what you found that helped during labour.
Thanks all..

Plenty of scrubbing floors/anything on hands&knees/leaning forward should spin baby. Apparently there are so many more now because we’re leaning back on sofas not scrubbing floors on our hands and knees. It worked for my son
My daughter was back to back. Labour was VERY intense from early on (contractions only 10 seconds apart and 1 minute long, felt like spine was snapping) as my body was trying to turn baby. Carried on like this for 46 hours. In the last 30 minutes she turned, broke my waters on her way and flew out in 2 pushes!!
Sorry to say, back Labour is no joke..

My back to back baby was easiest out of 5, think his weight helped as he was 9lb 11½ so sort of pushed his way out. I had no pain relief and he was born 4 mins after my waters went.
I had a back labour with a back to back 9lb 12oz baby. My back was also in a spasm. I had an epidural (she was the only one out of 4 I did). She was born no probs but my back is still suffering, even after seeing an osteopath. It still occasionally goes into a spasm now.
Given birth 7 times. A few of mine were born back to back despite active pregnancies and bouncing on ball in Labour etc. They didn’t turn but came out face looking up. They were big babies and I am only a small frame really. Gas and air (and stitches). It can be done but in my experience it was definitely harder than the ones in the “right” position, especially the second stage. Good luck!
47 years ago I gave birth to a baby laying against my back. First baby, ended up with forceps as when they are laying looking up, you are trying to give birth to the biggest part of their head which can be difficult, especially with your first. Please don’t worry too much, it may turn or at least you can have an epidural ! Good luck
I had no idea my son was back to back until I did birth afterthoughts some 6 years later when having my second. Labour was longer than my daughter but I wouldn’t say more painful on my back and I have lower back trauma and live with pain. The worst bit was the tear followed by a cut for them to assist with ventous, labour itself and delivery were fine, was the healing after and stitches that bothered me the most.
Good luck! Every labours different xx

My first child was born back to back after being induced, all my pain was in my back (they tried a epidural but unfortunately it only worked partially), it was a tight squeeze to say the least and I needed forceps to get her out in the end but whilst it was all a bit nerve wracking she was fine and I didn’t need a c section plus it made my second birth seem like a dream. Try not to worry it’s different for everyone.
