Another tonsillectomy post.

My daughter doesn't eat pudding, jello, ice cream, popsicles, doesn't drink juice or smoothies or milkshakes. She does eat yogurt and apple sauce and drinks chocolate milk. I was thinking of getting her pediasure.

Do you think the yogurt and pediasure is a bad idea because it produces phlegm?

I'm seriously at a loss as to what to feed this child.

Hello! I made the tonsillectomy post earlier this week, after speaking to the surgeon and get pediatrician and explaining the severity of the situation, the were very understanding, she's doesn't do ice cream, jello, popsicles etc, and the main concern after operation is hydration, they decided to admit her and keep her hydrated via drip, and I have to say it's the best decision!! We are at day 5 now, and she's started eating and drinking, she's doing so well.

My son wouldn't eat or drink anything and they wouldn't discharge him. My husband went and got Pediasure and put it on his fav cup and we left. He would drink it with no problem. No issues except he when he figured he could drink his meals.... he really didn't want to eat anything going forward. Took 4 years to get him off pediasure. I would try not to go down that path unless you have to. Good Luck and prepare for the 'Walking Dead Breathe' that comes post surgery.

Useful: Picky eating after a tonsillectomy?

What does she drink if she has a tummy bug? Anything clear? I drank icy water constantly for 6 days when I had mine out at 8. I didn't eat anything dairy because I'm no dairy. My 4 yr old had tonsils, adenoids and tubes in November. He ate normal dinner that night like nothing hurt because of the pain shot they give them.

So then he was on pedialyte pops and icy water for 3 days he would nibble maybe 5 goldfish he chewed till they were nothing and drank lots with them. He drank a pediasure a day as well just to make sure he had some calories for strength. Otherwise they start eating more by the 7th or 8th day, then have a bad day about day 10. Then all will improve from there out.

Keep up with the motrin Tylenol till then. Good luck and focus on hydration more then food.
