I was set on using chrome for the taps and handles, however our designer has suggested brushed nickel. I’m interested to hear other people’s thoughts.
Which one do you think looks/ works better?
I’m looking for some advice regarding hardware for our kitchen and bathroom
My cabinet maker tried to talk me out of chrome handles, but I had my heart set on a look that I wanted which was more classic. I had already ordered all my tapware in chrome and I wanted it to match. I think it works for the look I wanted to achieve but I also believe it’s personal preference too (my tapware comes in both brushed nickel and chrome) this was the look I went for in the chrome. After my cabinet maker saw it together he told me he’d never recommended chrome as it wasn’t a style he was drawn to but that he actually like it when it saw how it went together in my bathroom and ensuite.
I have brushed nickel & love it. It is not as “bright” as chrome & in certain light it throws a gold tone. I bought my tap ware from Brodware which is an Australian company. Their products don’t tarnish like other brands, which was my worry going with a nickel.
I love my brushed nickel handles and knobs and hubby was supposed to order our tap in it but got chrome. I’m still sorry and sad we couldn’t return it.
I have brushed nickel....its lovely and has a very slight warm/gold tinge in certain light.
