Does anyone know if you can paint fireplace exterior?
I would polish it but if you don’t want that look and would prefer black then consider polishing and selling it. You would probably get enough to buy a black unit. I regret selling mine but I got pretty good money for it.
This is what we did with ours… it’s in Lola the pergola.
Definitely keep it copper!
Such a thing of beauty

I would render the wall, paint it black or deep blue or green and polish that copper up until it sings! How beautiful it is.
Is that copper though? I’d clean and polish it instead and paint the brick solid white (your wall colour) or black depending on how much natural light you’ve got for black.
Don't forget to take a look at: I’m keen to freshen my fireplace up

Keep the copper! They’re so expensive! It should be the feature!
Instead: Remove the floor tiles (hearth) and square it off. Then Render from the top of the brick wall all the way to where the Hearth ends. Then continue your flooring up to the hearth.

Yes, Bunnings sells a paint product called Pot Belly Black that is specific.
designed for fireplaces. I used it in a previous house to Re spray an original mission brown one. You will need about 6 cans though, does not go far.
