Has anyone regretted this choice? Have been warned this laminate can look a little tacky.

Some of the laminates are just amazing.

It’s obviously personal preference- mine is yes. Tacky. Stone and warm it up with timber accents and you can’t go wrong.

I have seen some recently at Bunnings that I had to do a double take on as I thought it was a real timber top! Not sure what they are like for wear and tear but they looked amazing.

This might not be what you’re after… but my kitchen benchtop matches the cabinetry. If you’re into it, go to your nearest Laminex showroom. The Formica these days is incredible!

Sorry about the picture, kitchen is still in process!

Couldn't look any more tacky than the current trend of woodlook cupboards.

Laminex these days is amazing, and the new edging you can have looks so good that you can barely tell it's laminate any more! Go and check out your local laminex showroom to see ideas as they have many kitchens and bathrooms made up to showcase the different options and you can see how they look in real life. Going to kitchen company showrooms is also a good way to see different options.
