.. We are a family of four, is it worth paying nearly £100 each way to reserve seats or will they seat us together (or at least not leave the children to sit on their own)?

Even with the 20% off the price feels astronomical.

Thanks.

We always pay for allocated seats... Wouldn't want to risk not being seated together xx

I’ve always been seated with mine. Never ever would I pay. If they don’t sit my children next to me then I’m winning quite frankly.

Pay the money it's not worth the stress.

We always pay. We wouldn't risk being separated and wouldn't expect people who had prebooked seats to move for us.

Useful: Can Jet2 sit kids on a plane separate from their parents?

If you want to guarantee all sitting together I would definitely pay. It’s not worth the stress.

If you check in 28 days before you can see what seats they put you in, you can then pay if you want to change them. I've never had to change always seated together x

I have honestly never paid for seat reservations, and my family of 4 have always been sat next to each other.

We travel 2-3 times a year on different airlines. I wouldn’t pay for the seat reservations, such an obscene way to get extra money from their customers imo

I think this is shocking way of making extra money, it’s so wrong when your already paying over 1k per head for the holiday, but like most usually pay, this year it’s just the 3 of us, so paid for 2 together so at least my 10 year old will be sitting with one of the adults going. Jet 2 are really expensive as well.

I might leave it to the very last minute to check in - good luck to whoever is stuck next to my kids for 4 hours whilst I enjoy a g and t and read of my book

On ryanair my husband was seated with the kids automatically. My seat wasn't allocated. I still have under 60 days to go where he has been placed with the kids there isn't even a spare seat for me to book and sit in the same section as them! My kids are are also aged 7 and under so go across an aisle as well so one of them is sat next to a stranger!

Don't miss: Will Jet2 let me change my hotel?

Save yourself £200 and check in online as soon as it opens. Jet2 are usually very good at seating families together. We never pay when we fly easyJet and Jet2 and seated together. You could log in and see how many seats are left and keep checking it until online check in opens

Pay the money, they wont automatically sit you all together and will place your kids infront or behind you or on a row across the aisle, not worth the hassle or the stress, they do it because they can and know that when they do you will pay for the seats next time.. unless you dont want to sit with them then don't pay it.
