Is it okay to have blog post 7-8 crawl depth?

Hi all, tell me please.. Is it okay to have blog post 7-8 crawl depth?

There’s really no reason to have an 8 level depth. It’s very easy to keep the silos in no more than 3 levels, if not use sidebars and categories to reach those deeper pages

I did a test a few years back on an ecommerce site that had many products and categories buried 7-8 clicks deep. I the log files, Google stopped crawling at 4-5 clicks deep so many of the pages were simply being ignored
