I know the question has been answered a lot, but I am struggling to find the right luggage for me.

I usually travel with too much stuff and only want to take a backpack with me this time. So my question is:
  • Could you let me know which backpack you are recommending/ what size?
  • What are most people packing (like clothes, shoes etc.?
Any other tips would be highly appreciated

Packing cubes.. but like 4? Tops in one, bottoms another, swimwear another and underwear. Maybe a spare cheap one to seperate your dirty washing.

^ agree. The farpoint 40L is apparently a carryon.. so if you get short flights you will save paying for baggage. Take a bumbag for all your essentials on a journey e.g headphones, passport etc.

I'm using 55l osprey farpoint and it's too big. I could be carrying less. But the farpoint style opens like a suitcase. It's amazing I love it. Zips strong and whole bag amazing. Worth investment.

40L. Whatever you think you should bring, cut it in half. You can get everything you need here.

I suggest you pack as little as possible if you are moving around from place to place a lot. It gets very annoying and you are more likely to leave small things behind, no matter how careful you are. In my experience with Thailand and Cambodia, I found the weather to be extremely hot and threw away half the clothes I brought to get lighter, thinner stuff while I was there.

I got osprey fairview 40L as it seemed the most recommended- I’ve used it for shorter getaways but am taking it travelling for a few months, so far so good! And it meets all the airline requirements I’ve looked at so far (just not some of the international ones for flights out of UK, not sure about other countries, but worth checking airlines for your international flight if you’re wanting to have it as hand luggage for these flights too).

Don't forget to take a look at: To those of you familiar with Southwest Airlines
